![]() ![]() Even then, I feel like I might have left a few stones unturned or had quests conclude in different ways. Now I’ve played through this section several times on PC, but I still found new quests and locations this time around. When people say even two or three multiple playthroughs of this easily 100 hour epic won’t be enough to see everything, they mean it.Īs an example, I spent about 17 hours in what’s supposed to be the tutorial area. It’s rare for a game to give you choices that actually matter, but Divinity has them in abundance. You can be a goody-two-shoes, a right evil bastard, or anything in between or outside. Each side quest (more or less) presents its own deep, complex dilemma that you can engage with in whatever way you see fit. Original Sin 2 is already starting off with a captivating premise, but it only gets more interesting from there. The world needs a Divine to hold the void at bay, but only one among you may ascend to divinity… Along the way, you discover that you’re a Godwoken: someone with the ability to become the next Divine, essentially a living god. Obviously, you don’t take kindly to being held prisoner, so you and three companions make your escape. There, the Sourcerers are collared and left to essentially fend for themselves. With the passing of the Divine, the Magisters have been rounding up any and all people who can use Source magic to ship them off to Fort Joy. So let’s get straight to the Source, and dive right in. With the rerelease of the physical, Limited Run game cart on Switch, we thought it would be fun to take one last look at the game, particularly focusing on this console version. Said definitive edition added new story elements, dialogue options, characters, and generally improved the overall balancing. Essentially, it’s only flaw is that it has so much to it the game can be overwhelming. Our own Editor in Chief gave the non-definitive edition a 95, and I completely agree with his opinion. ![]() ![]() That said, if you own a PC, PS4 or Xbox One, Divinity: Original Sin II will live up to its reputation far better there.I think it’s safe to say that Divinity: Original Sin 2 is one of the greatest RPGs ever made. The game is still one of the most celebrated RPG ever released, and it's worth players' attention. ![]() Divinity: Original Sin II should only be played on the Nintendo Switch if there's no other option available. It's certainly not the limited visuals, even when docked, and it's absolutely not for the novelty of portability, as anyone seriously playing the title will run into frequent battery woes. If players are sitting on their couch or computer chair playing the game with a controller (or mouse and keyboard, which is probably preferred) anyway, what allure does the Switch version hold? While that's not impossible to do on the Switch, it does mean that players will have to dock the system and connect to a screen. If someone is playing and enjoying Divinity: Original Sin II, they'll want to be able to sit back, relax and enjoy every sight and sound the title offers comfortably. While some Switch models have better battery life, it's not enough to power through a long session of Divinity: Original Sin II uninterrupted. Any time someone chooses to take advantage of that portability, they'll be subject to the tiresome game of battery management. Though it won't affect anyone who is strictly playing docked on a TV, part of the allure of purchasing on the Switch is the option for portability. Something players may not even consider about playing on the Switch is battery life. ![]()
